What Caller ID Information Will I See for Inbound Calls?

magicJack will display the phone number of the person calling you. Caller ID Name (CNAM), which displays the name associated with the inbound phone number, is not currently a supported feature.

What Caller ID Information Will Other People See When I Call Them?

Other parties with Caller ID enabled will see your name, as entered during registration, or name updates you have made using my.magicjack.com.

Please note the following:

  • Caller ID updates may take up to one week.
  • Not all carriers will deliver your caller ID as entered.
  • A maximum of 15 characters are allowed.
  • No special characters (e.g. #, !, *, etc.) are allowed.
  • If the party you are calling has your name saved in their contacts, your caller ID may instead appear as they have you listed.
  • Some carriers may maintain their own caller ID database, which may not be in sync with the database magicJack utilizes.
  • This feature is only available for US telephone numbers.

Can I Block My Outbound Caller ID?

Yes, you can block your outbound caller ID on a per-call basis.

To block your outbound caller ID, simply dial *67 before dialing the telephone number you wish to reach.

What If My Caller ID Isn’t Working?

If inbound caller ID is not functioning as expected, please utilize the following troubleshooting steps:

  • If your magicJack is plugged into a computer, plug your magicJack into a different USB port.
  • Try using a different telephone with your magicJack.
